Curriculum - River Rangers

The River Rangers Program is an extra-curricular program for students in Years 5-6.

The program is aimed at empowering students to make a positive impact in local communities, waterways and ultimately the Swan Canning Riverpark. It is designed to allow students to actively investigate local issues, design, evaluate and share the results of their projects with other schools and the wider community through tailored interactive activities.

The Program includes, but is not permitted to at least:

· One excursion per term

· One incursion per term

· One camp per year

The Western Australian Government provides $350 per student to a maximum of 50 students to participate within the program. Students must be involved in at least 70% of the program in order for the school to gain funding and for the students to remain within the program.

This is an exciting opportunity for our senior students to gain access to a quality program at no cost. There is also scope for the students to continue their cadetship through the Bush Rangers Cadet programs at John Forrest Secondary College and Hampton Senior High School.

If you have any queries or questions don’t hesitate to contact either Miss Laura Cleary or Miss Sarah Harper our two River Ranger Co-ordinators, via the school administration.
